Katrina DeMarte joined Magdich Law, P.C. in July of 2018. Katrina is a native Yooper and she graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science, where she played volleyball and was a founder and moderator of the Northern Michigan University Car Club. Katrina then went on to obtain her law degree from Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law school, where she graduated cum laude, and was elected to the prestigious position of the Managing Editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Journal of Practical and Clinical Law. Upon graduation from law school, Katrina relocated to Denver, Colorado, where she specialized in complex bankruptcy matters, personal injury, and creditors’ rights litigation. Katrina was the lead attorney for all contested litigation matters within the state of Colorado for a large national firm, where she acted as first chair in representing national banks in state court actions and in arbitration with both JAMS and AAA. In January of 2018, Katrina moved back to her home state of Michigan to be closer to family. She continued to concentrate her practice on the litigation of financial matters, where she specialized in the defense of individual and class action lawsuits with a large national firm, representing various clients in federal courts throughout the nation.
In July of 2018, Katrina was presented with the opportunity to join Magdich Law, P.C., which she gladly accepted given Magdich Law P.C.’s reputation for excellence and zealous advocacy for its clients. Katrina continues to litigate, defend, and obtain favorable results in the areas of creditors’ rights defense in federal courts throughout the country. Katrina also acts as national counsel for various creditors, advising them and counseling them regarding compliance with consumer statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. Katrina also maintains a local practice in Michigan in the areas of insurance defense, medical malpractice defense, and premises liability defense. Katrina is highly regarded amongst her colleagues and clients for her passionate defense of her clients and her significant first chair trial and litigation experience.

Little Known Fact: Katrina is a Yooper through-and-through, and has a deep passion for Jeeps and muscle cars. Katrina participated in her first vehicle restoration at the age of 5, having restored a 1976 CJ-7 with her father and brother while living on Drummond Island. Katrina went on to work on a racing pit crew in high school and college, where she continued restoring cars - including various Jeeps and a 1979 Pontiac Trans AM.
